My Personal Statement On My Life - 1156 Words

The alarm sounds and whether I’m dreaming or not, it could take minutes maybe even hours to figure out where I have gone. I have ignored this sound so much that some may find how long I let it go off to be wrong. How weary I am and how much I’ve killed my brain, hit me like a train the day before and the day before that. I am as inanimate as the pitch black ground outside that my shoes will once again meet not long after I begin to move my feet. Finally, my eyes were too heavy so I learned to lift more, bringing myself to wake. My partner talking and nudging me is what it has come to take. I wish that my responsibility to go to work was fake. It isn’t though and I lift my sore body letting my feet hit the floor, wanting my sleep deprived headache to go away. If life didn’t demand more from me then I wouldn’t get dressed, I wouldn’t head out the door. I ignore the mirror in the bathroom, I don’t want to see the bags under my eyes that keep me company. I slide into the upright position that my driver’s seat is stuck in, and force my truck to wake. He grumbles about being older as his wheels begin to tumble, but he start’s to see my sleepy eyes and realizes that we are both cold and tired. His heart starts too warm as we travel down a familiar road. He is happy once we get where we’re going, for his parts that should’ve retired long ago, need a break. I insert my store key and unlock the start of my shift, entering the alarm code before I even clock in.
